Germany, though often overshadowed by its neighbors like France and Italy, is a country filled with hidden gems, waiting to be explored. One such place is Konstanz, a city that was once unfamiliar to me but has since become a cherished memory. When my then-boyfriend, now husband, had work assignments across Germany, we seized the opportunity to visit its many cities, each unique and captivating. In the middle of a warm summer, we ventured to Konstanz, a beautiful lakeside town on the border of Switzerland. Its serene charm, rich history, and proximity to the stunning Lake Constance took me by surprise. This is a place that whispers rather than shouts—a place where beauty unfolds quietly in the medieval streets, along the shimmering lake, and, if you are lucky, amidst the backdrop of the Alps.
